Apps For Good Competition
Note: This is open only to Garfield Students who participate in the AfG class process, see Mr. Bergquist for full details.

NOTE: Apps for Good Teams, please fill out their Survey by Friday 30th, and they moved out the notification date to the 30th, so we will be hearing by email on the 30th.

Required Permission Slips for Entry:
- Apps for Good Code of Conduct - Please review and sign. (Most have done this in class)
- Apps for Good Participation Agreement - Please review, sign, and get parent signature if you are under 18.

Key Dates: 

  • Monday, 5th May – Submission Deadline (extended) - the Competition Tab is now Open for Teams to Submit material!
    Mr. Bergquist needs to review and approve all submissions, so they are needed by Monday, May 5th.
  • UPDATE 30th May finalists announced and offer for additional mentoring
  • 23rd & 24th June – Finalist Competition & Presentations in London, England.

Competition Categories:

  • General Entry – requires Pitch Presentation in MS Powerpoint (with AfG exercise details), 60 second Elevator Pitch video, Wireframes (in Balsamiq or Lucidchart), and an optional app prototype (i.e. App Inventor) [Entry CriteriaAfG Presentation Template, and Judging Criteria]
  • Technical Entry – requires fully implemented prototype including it’s source code stored in GitHub or similar (I assume as well as the above details).  App Inventor projects do not qualify for this competition.  [Entry Criteria and Judging Criteria]
