Creating great web pages is not only about knowing the ins and outs of HTML and CSS. Having a clear vision for how page elements will work together and what colors will be used is an important part of the web site creation process.
Spend some time looking at these websites for inspiration:
- Website gallery. Which do you find most appealing? Why? What design elements could you use in your own pages?
- Color theme library. Which would work well for the theme of your web site? Why?
- Free background generator.
- CSS zen garden shows the same HTML styled using different CSS. Which do you like best? Why?
- CSS menu maker generates HTML and CSS for fancy menus. Could you use one in your page?
